The Grand Prize Winner of The Professional Class will represent Thailand in the Southeast Asia Regional Finals, competing for a chance to perform at the International Steinway Festival in Hamburg, Germany.
1 Grand Prize Winner Trophy & Certificate Full-scholarship to participate and perform at the Rencontres Musicales autour du Piano de Cayeux-sur-Mer*, in France, from 15th - 20th July 2025. To represent Thailand at the 7th Steinway South-East Asia Pacific (SEAP) Regional Finals from 1st - 3rd August 2025 and opportunity to represent SEAP at the 21st International Steinway Festival in Hamburg, Germany, on 7th September 2025. |

*Grand Prize Scholarship to France is jointly supported by Klassika International, Cayeux-sur-Mer, Rouen Piano and Villa Gargantua. All arrangements to be provided and handled by Klassika International, and subject to change dependent on circumstances and the festival organizers and sponsors.
The contestants have to be at the age of 17 and below (i.e. born on or after July 31st 2008.)
Category 1 – Age 11 and below
(i.e. born on or after January 1st, 2014)
Category 2 – Ages 14 and below
(i.e. born between and inclusive of January 1st, 2011 and December 31st, 2013)
Category 3 – Ages 17 and below
(i.e. born between and inclusive of July 31st, 2008 and December 31st, 2010)
*Contestants have to be Thai Citizens or Thai Residents. *Contestants are allowed to participate in only one of the classes: Professional Class or Amateur Class. *Previous 1st Prize Winners of the SYPC are not eligible to participate in the same age category as the previous participation. *Previous Grand Prize Winners of SYPC Thailand are not eligible to participate. *Contestants should be non-professional, not playing for fees, signed to an agent or management. *Representative selected to the Regional Finals has to hold Thai Citizenship or Permanent Residency. *The Grand Prize Winner must be able to participate the Southeast Asia Regional Finals in Bangkok from 1st - 3rd August 2025 and potentially the International Steinway Festival in Hamburg on 7th September 2025, or travel to any location as required by Steinway & Sons for activities related to the 7th Steinway Youth Piano Competition 2025. |

In the Preliminary Round, contestants will be required to submit their pre-recorded performance videos.
All contestants are required to participate in this Preliminary Round.
• Contestants must present the first movement of a Sonata by either Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Clementi, or Schubert.
• Contestants must perform from memory.
• The duration of the video should not exceed the maximum of 10 minutes.
• All pertinent program details (Composer, Work, Key, Op., No., Hob., K. designations) for each movement of the work intended for performance must be listed.
• Original compositions and improvisations are not permitted. No concerti or transcriptions are allowed. Jury has the right to request for the photocopies of all the scores from the contestants.
• The repertoire must be submitted within 15th January 2025 via the Repertoire Submission Form. The contestants will receive the link to the form after their registration is completed.
• Contestants are required to perform the exact same repertoire for further stages of the competition as indicated in the Repertoire Submission Form. Changing of the repertoire is not allowed once the form is submitted.

• The duration of the video should not exceed the maximum of 10 minutes.
• Contestants must perform the repertoire in one continuous take with no pause or stopping. Edits and cuts are not permitted.
• Contestants are advised to dress formally and appropriately in the video.
• No one except the contestant is allowed to appear in the video.
• The camera should be static. The view can be either landscape or portrait.
• The contestant's side profile during performance should be visible. The whole piano and any pedals should be in view. Click to see example.
• Your recording must be of a good enough quality to allow assessment of all aspects of the performance, including tone quality and dynamic range.
• The video should be one file and must be uploaded to the contestant's available Youtube account with the visibility of the video set as 'Unlisted'. See 'Video Submission' section for how to submit the video.
• The videos submitted to the competition must be used only for this competition. Videos that have been used in other events are not allowed for this competition.
• The SYPC Organizing Committee reserves the rights all recordings and videographs related to the competition. No royalties will be paid to the contestants.

• The instrument being performed in the video must be acoustic piano either grand or upright.
• Contestants may record their performance videos at any location or facility of their choosing, provided the recording meets the video recording requirements.
• To facilitate this video recording, the Thailand SYPC Organizing Committee will provide a list of recommended venues. For any inquiries, please contact the designated partnered locations provided. It is important to note that contestants will be responsible for arranging their own video recording equipment and covering any costs associated with recording at these locations.

• The video recording submission can be done between 1st to 31st March 2025.
• The deadline of the video recording submission is 23:59 hours local time, on 31st March 2025.
• The Youtube link of the video recording must be submitted through the Google Form provided during the submission period. Contestants are not allowed to re-submit the form with their new recording to replace the one submitted previously.
• The list of round winners who are eligible for the Semi-Finals will be announced on www.steinwaythailand.com.

• All contestants who are not selected to proceed onto the Semi-Finals will receive a Professional Class Participation Certificate and Medal.
• These will be awarded to the contestants by delivery made to the contestant's address stated in the application form, or collected at the Steinway & Sons showroom at a pre-appointed date and time.

Only Eighteen (18) Contestants per age category from the Preliminary Round will be selected to compete in the Semi-Finals Competition. The Semi-Finals Competition will take place on-site.
• Contestants must present two contrasting pieces. One of the two pieces must be the same first movement of a Sonata that was performed in the Preliminary Round.
• The two pieces can be performed in any order.
• Contestants must perform from memory.
• The duration of the repertoire (two pieces) should not exceed 15 minutes.
• All pertinent program details (Composer, Work, Key, Op., No., Hob., K. designations) for each movement of the work intended for performance must be listed.
• Original compositions and improvisations are not permitted. No concerti or transcriptions are allowed. Jury has the right to request for the photocopies of all the scores from the contestants.
• The repertoire must be submitted within 15th January 2025 via the Repertoire Submission Form. The contestants will receive the link to the form after their registration is completed.

• Contestants should arrive at least 45 minutes before their assigned time.
• Contestants should be in their best performance attire.
• Contestant who plays beyond time limit might be halted by judges, but it will not influence his or her performance result.
• The SYPC Organizing Committee reserves the rights all recordings and videographs related to the competition. No royalties will be paid to the contestants.

Only Six (6) Contestants per age category from the Semi-Finals Competition will be selected to compete in the Grand-Finals Competition. The Grand-Finals Competition will take place on-site.
The Grand Prize Winner representing Thailand in the Southeast Asia Regional Finals will be selected from the 1st Prize winner of the 3 age categories.
• Contestants must present three contrasting pieces. Two of which are the same pieces that have been performed for the Preliminary Round and the Semi-Finals Round.
• The three pieces can be performed in any order.
• Contestants must perform from memory.
• The duration of the repertoire (three pieces) should not exceed 20 minutes.
• All pertinent program details (Composer, Work, Key, Op., No., Hob., K. designations) for each movement of the work intended for performance must be listed.
• Original compositions and improvisations are not permitted. No concerti or transcriptions are allowed. Jury has the right to request for the photocopies of all the scores from the contestants.
• The repertoire must be submitted within 15th January 2025 via the Repertoire Submission Form. The contestants will receive the link to the form after their registration is completed.

• There will be only one Grand Prize Winner selected from all age categories.
• The Grand Prize Winner will be awarded with Trophy and Certificate.
• The Grand Prize Winner will receive a full-scholarship to participate and perform at the Rencontres Musicales autour du Piano de Cayeux-sur-Mer, in France, from 15th to 20th July 2025.

• The Grand Prize Winner will be representing Thailand at the 7th Steinway South-East Asia Pacific (SEAP) Regional Finals, held from 1st - 3rd August 2025. The Winner of the Regional Finals will represent SEAP at the 21st International Steinway Festival in Hamburg, Germany, held on 7th September 2025.
• Top three Grand-Finalists in each age category will receive respective trophies and certificates.
• All Grand-Finalists will receive a Professional Class Grand-Finalists Certificate of Recognition and Medal.
• All Grand-Finalists will have an opportunity to perform at the 7th SYPC Winners Recital.

Contestants are reminded to always conduct themselves in the spirit of fair competition, failure of which might affect their Competition evaluation.
Contestants are strictly prohibited from receiving any form of guidance including but not limited to private lessons and masterclasses with jury members up till their last date of competition participation.
Contestants are expected to declare any past or present relationship with members of the Jury.
Contestants who are unable to perform at the designated time will have their right to participate in that round forfeited, and thus not entitled to any recognition as a participant of that round.
Evaluations for each round of the competition made by the Jury are final and non-disputable.
The Grand Prize Winner must be available to participate on the dates required. If the Winner is unable to compete on the designated dates, the prizes shall be forfeited without compensation.
Sanctions or Disqualifications might be imposed on contestants found to be in serious breach of the Competition Rules & Regulations, including but not limited to, manipulation of recordings, intent to gain an unfair advantage, and non-disclosure of conflict of interest.
The 7th SYPC Thailand Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend the Rules and Regulations of the competition without prior notice.
The prizes shall be accepted as is and may not be exchanged or transferred.
The Organizer shall assume no liability resulting from losses, delays, mistaken addresses on mail or e-mail received, typographical errors, or any other unintentional mistakes.
The Organizer shall not be liable for any cancellation or alterations to the events due to force majeure circumstances and circumstances beyond control, and for any associated damages and losses.
There will be no refunds once Registrations have been submitted.
The Organizer reserves the right to the interpretation of the Terms and Conditions and Rules and Regulations.
