Which Class should I register for, and can I join both?

  • Contestants are only allowed to participate in a single Class, either Professional or Amateur.
  • As the Competition aims to identify, encourage and promote young pianists, contestants are encouraged to participate in the higher Class that they are eligible for.

How should I set-up the video recording for Preliminary Round?

  • Please refer to this photo for the recommended video recording position.

  • Further video recording requirements can be found at Video Recording tab on Professional Class and Amateur Class pages.

What if I do not have an acoustic piano at home for the video recording?

Early Bird Applications: 31 October 2024

  • Once forms have been submitted, no edits or amendments will be accepted.

How should I select my repertoire?

  • The repertoire requirements and suggestions can be found under Repertoire tab on Professional Class and Amateur Class pages.

What if I am unavailable at a scheduled date and time?

  • Contestants are reminded to make themselves available to participate in all stages of the competition as laid out in the Competition Schedules. The Organizing Committee is unable to accommodate requests for changes in dates or times.
  • Contestants who are unable to perform at the designated time will have their right to participate in that round forfeited, and thus not entitled to any recognition as a participant of that round.

What if I exceed the time limit, or differ from the competition guidelines?

  • The Jury is made aware of the Competition’s purpose, rules, and regulations, and will make the decision on all adjudication matters.
