Angel Zhang is a classically trained pianist with an ABRSM Piano Performance Diploma, awarded with Distinction. Her musical background spans piano performance, competitions, composition, and collaborative arts, and she is passionate about helping students discover both the technical and expressive possibilities of music.
Angel particularly enjoys working with beginners, focusing on building strong technical and musical foundations from the very first lesson. She also welcomes intermediate students and tailors her teaching to each student's individual goals and learning style. While her own training is rooted in classical piano, her lessons are not limited to the ABRSM syllabus or classical repertoire, allowing students to explore music in a way that best supports their interests and development.
Beyond music, Angel brings a wealth of teaching experience from academic and educational settings, including university-level teaching support and private tutoring. She has worked with students of different ages and learning styles, developing a patient, thoughtful, and encouraging approach that helps each student learn with confidence.
Prior to moving to Bangkok, Angel built a successful career in technology, working as a software engineer and machine learning specialist. Today, she combines the analytical discipline from her professional background with her lifelong passion for music to create engaging, well-structured, and inspiring piano lessons.
Angel teaches private piano lessons in central Bangkok in English and Mandarin.

My connection with Steinway goes back to my own childhood. My piano teacher had a Steinway in her studio, and she would invite me to play it on special occasions, often in the final days before a competition. I still remember the sense of occasion that came with sitting down at it. It felt different before I had the vocabulary to explain why. I listened more closely, searched for more colour in a phrase, and became more aware of just how much could be expressed through touch and sound.
Over time, Steinway came to represent something more than a beautiful instrument to me. It represented the possibility of going beyond the notes on the page and discovering the colour, character, and emotion within the music.
That idea continues to shape me both as an artist and as a teacher. I care deeply about helping students develop not only a strong technical foundation, but also the ability to listen closely, communicate through sound, make thoughtful musical choices, and develop a voice of their own at the piano. I believe that kind of musicianship should be nurtured from the very beginning.
Choosing a Steinway-designed piano for my own studio therefore feels deeply personal. An instrument that once marked rare and memorable moments in my own musical education can now be part of the environment in which my students learn every day. I want them to discover, as I did, how inspiring it can be to play an instrument that invites you to listen more deeply, reach for greater expression, imagine more from every note, and develop a lifelong curiosity about what is possible at the piano.
