Biography

 

yuqiao chen

Yuqiao Chen was born in China in 2007. He started to learn piano when he was 5 years old under the guidance of his first teacher, Youlan Wang, who taught him for the first three years of his piano journey in Chengdu, China.

He continued his lessons with Tong Shen who is the main piano teacher in The Affiliated High School of China Conservatory of Music when he moved to Beijing with family in 2015. In the following year, the whole family lived in Nepal (2016-2017) for almost two years where he was essentially self-taught.  After moving to Thailand in 2018, he continued his study with Irina Novikova.

 Now, at fifteen years old, Yuqiao has won innumerable Awards and Prizes in a very short space of time. Some of the prizes include: 3rd Prize(Intermediate Group) at Vladimir Krainev Online Competition in 2020; Grand Prix Winner & Platinum Medal at North American Virtuoso International Music Competition in 2021; Second Prize in Professional Group(13-14y) at Chicago International Music Competition in 2022; First prize (14y group) at New talent Festival(London) and received the CIS Runner-up Prize which provide one year full scholarship in the first Bachelor Degree course at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana(in Switzerland) and an invitation to perform in Royal Academy Music in 2023.

When he was 13 years old, he passed the LTCL exam of Trinity College London with distinction result (Thailand second Highest score). He has also received the Music Scholarship when he studied at Shrewsbury International School in Bangkok. Recently, he's been honored with a generous scholarship from the prestigious Regents International School Pattaya.

         In addition, his performances have taken place in numerous great concert halls in Berlin, Prague, San Francisco, Hang Kong, Moscow, Shanghai and Bangkok. In June 2022, he played Beethoven Piano Concerto No.2 with Bangkok Charity Orchestra at Askra Theater in Bangkok. Though many invitations were offered to perform in Carnegie Hall, many performances were postponed during the three years of Covid pandemic. The good news is that it is now time to return to the stage.

           
   Most recently Yuqiao has joined hands with Karma Sounds and has been recognized as an Apple Artist. His works, beginning from May, have been making their way onto over 100 global platforms, with Apple Music at the forefront.
