Paengram (Paeng) Chirasavinuprapand was born in 2000 and started taking piano lessons at the age of seven. At the age of twelve, she began learning with renowned pianist, Dr. Indhuon Srikaranonda. Paeng has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at venues including Yamaha Music Hall and the Goethe Institute (Thailand), American Opera Center, Mary Flagler Cary Hall at the Dimenna Center, La Maison Française, and Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall (New York), and Il Maggiore Concert Hall (Italy). Paeng has received awards in competitions such as Nouvelles Étoiles, Ninth International Music Competition, International Clara Schumann Competition, and International Music Competition “Bonn” Grand Prize Virtuoso.
A committed educator, she has taught piano at the Kawai Music School and the PlaySound Music School, and served as an adjunct instructor at NYU. Recently, Paeng has co-curated a solo piano and chamber concert, “Night to Light: Influences of French Music,” presenting French influenced music from composers such as Jean-Philippe Rameau to Claude Debussy to Yuko Uebayashi. She also participated in Carnegie Hall’s “Dancing on the Precipice” Festival and performed Busoni’s Drei Albumblätter, BV 289.
Paeng graduated with a Master of Music in Piano Performance with a Concentration in Solo Piano, and an Advanced Certificate in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at NYU Steinhardt, where she studied with Artist Faculty member and Steinway Artist, Dr. Yoojung Kim. She also received her bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from NYU Steinhardt, graduating magna cum laude.
She will be continuing her studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she will join the Ph.D. program in Piano Pedagogy.
