A Sharing Session and Recital by the 5th SYPC Grand Prize Winner, featuring 'Guy' Pasit Wattanalekhawong

Steinway Thailand cordially invites interested pianists, parents and teachers to the next event in our series of activities promoting the 7th Steinway Youth Piano Competition (SYPC) 2025. The event will feature a recital and sharing session by the Grand Prize Winner of the 5th SYPC, Pasit Wattnalekhawong (Guy).

During this event, attendees will have an opportunity to hear first-hand from Pasit on his experience of winning Grand Prize at the 5th Steinway Youth Piano Competition 2020, along with his advice for aspiring young pianists aiming to compete in the upcoming 7th SYPC 2025.
He will also elaborate on the significant role that music played in his educational journey, ultimately leading to his time as a music scholar at Eton College.

The 7th SYPC Announcement
Preliminary information on the 7th Steinway Youth Piano Competition, Thailand 2025 will be announced along with the competition timeline, guidelines, as well as repertoire requirements.

Born in 2008, Pasit Wattanalekhawong (Guy) is one of the most distinguished young Thai pianists who has won numerous awards from prestigious competitions both nationally and internationally.
In 2020, Guy was awarded Grand Prize Winner at the 5th Steinway Youth Piano Competition and was chosen to be Thailand Representative to compete in the regional round in Shanghai. Some of his highest international achievements include winning First Prize at the Kaufman Music Center International Youth Piano Competition 2019, in New York, and being crowned as Junior World Champion Instrumentalist Prize from the WCOPA (World Championship of Performing Arts) 2018 in Los Angeles.
His other achievements includes the following: First Prize at the Sicily International Piano Festival and Competition 2019 (Aspiring Scholars) in Italy, First Prize and “Best Etude” award from UCSI University International Piano Festival and Competition 2018 in Malaysia, First Prize from Kawai Music Competition 2016 in Thailand, First Prize from AADGT Passion of Music in New York City, 2nd Prize from the 16th Osaka International Music Competition in Japan, 1st Prize from the Second Hong Kong Music Competition for Young Pianist 2015 in Hong Kong, and Winner from International Festival Spivakov “Moscow Meets Friends” in 2014 and 2015 Moscow, Russia.
Guy started piano lessons at the age of 4 years old. From 2016 until the present, he is under the guidance of Dr. Pornphan Banternghansa and as of 2018, has also been under the guidance of Dr. Christopher Janwong Mckiggan as well, at the Piano Academy of Bangkok. Guy is currently a student and a music scholar at Eton College in the UK, where he excels not only musically but also in terms of sports and academics. Other than playing the piano, he also enjoys playing other instruments such as the viola, the sax, and even the electric guitar.
